33 East Main Street, Belgrade, MT :: Garden
The garden is a work in progress and, we hope, will be a successful example of iterative and incremental development.

This plan rendering published by the City of Belgrade is centered on the intersection of Main and Kennedy. 33 and 31 East Main are labeled. Note the positions of street trees and other traffic calming measures. This design shows a clear desire to create a place that helps drivers feel that they should go slower and more carefully here while helping other users of the public space feel welcome.
Ideas and Goals for a possible public garden at the front of our property at 33 East Main Street:
Water wise perennial/herbaceous borders. Inspired by Bozeman's Water Wise Demonstration Gardens by Linda Iverson. Learn More About Them Here
Some open space, some secluded.
Native plants, trees, shrubs.
Pollinator and bird friendly.
Human friendly, places to sit, play, relax. Loitering encouraged 😄
Open areas surfaced in highly compacted angular fines over compacted base.
Angular fines allow water permeability, accessibility, simple maintenance. https://www.americantrails.org/resources/the-art-of-building-crushed-stone-trails
Design to be refined, edited over time. Would like to include lots of seating, water feature, garden art, etc.... If we are able to do this, it will be a work in progress.
The boulevard along Kennedy is City/Public property. Plantings and improvements shown there are goals that we will collaborate on, with the City.
